Mind Boggling! Only a surfer can truly appreciate this… But the rest should try!

It looks cool Todd! What is it?

What is it? It’s the entire Pacific Ocean walled up like a mountain about to dump on a sharp coral reef about 10 feet below the surface. This is one of the most amazing waves in the world. It’s located in Tahiti. These guys are brave and/or stupid.
DO YOU SEE HOW THE SEA LEVEL IS SPLIT IN TWO IN THIS PLACE? THIS WAVE IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! EVERY TIME I LOOK AT IT I’M IN AWE!

Hey Todd,
That would be a great pic for a desktop background not to mention seeing it on a larger scale! Is there a bigger version of it somewhere out there in cyberland?

All you need is that water/wave sucking sound and it would be real. Does this happen with all the sets of waves that come in here Todd?

Yes Jon - This is pretty much the way this wave shapes up all of the time. The swell is not always this big, but it’s one of the meanest rideable waves in the world.
It’s sort of funny though… look at what man is attempting to conquer, and it’s just a ripple in God’s Sea. We really ought to rethink how NOT in control and powerful we are in our own little universe.
Still… “only a surfer knows the feeling!” (and only a surfer from the 80’s knows where that expression came from)

Another awesome place where the Lord shows us his creative artistry. ‘Consider the engineer’
And I thought the ‘Wedge” was a radically weird place to try and catch a wave. Three poundings was enough for me!
