For some people, attending a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. Walking into a new situation with a lot of unknowns makes most people feel at least a little nervous! It’s our desire to make your visit with us as pleasant as possible. Therefore we have provided the following information to answer some of the general questions you may have about attending Crossroads Church.
Services (8:00am, 9:30am & 11:15am)
At our main church services you’ll find a good mixture of people from all age groups and backgrounds. Dress tends to be casual – with ties making appearances mostly at special services (i.e., Easter and Christmas). We have identical Sunday morning worship services at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:15 AM with concurrent childcare services and Children’s Ministry classes for children in nursery through fifth grade. Our Junior High (sixth through eight grades) and High School Ministries (HSM) meets during second and third services. We also have an Information Center in the church foyer staffed with people who would love to assist you and answer any questions you may have. Parking can sometimes take a little longer than expected so you may want to arrive a few minutes early.
Services are approximately one hour and five minutes long with twenty minutes of praise and worship and forty minutes of teaching. Our worship style is contemporary with morning services typically featuring present day praise songs and newly arranged hymns. In recognition of the fact that Biblical worship is primarily our response to God, we aim to sing songs that turn our attention towards God, are full of theological truth, and exalt Jesus Christ. At the conclusion of praise and worship, lead pastor Todd Johnson will spend the balance of the service teaching an expository style Bible study. An expository approach to Bible teaching involves taking a passage in the Bible, examining the original meaning of the text (verse-by-verse) and making practical application on how it applies in our lives today. Every first Sunday of the month we share in communion as part of the service.
After services, our bookstore/café - “The Commons” - is a great place to find good books, get a first-rate cup of coffee and meet some new people!
Bible Study (7:00pm)
Our Mid-Week Bible Study is dedicated to teaching completely through-the-Bible. The evening begins with half an hour of worship and prayer. Pastor Todd Johnson then takes the next forty-five minutes to present a verse-by-verse study of the passage for the evening. Wherever we conclude in the book being studied is where we pick up the following Wednesday. Every third Wednesday of the month we share in communion as part of the evening. Our Children’s Ministry provides concurrent evening programs to serve the needs of children from nursery through fifth grade. Our Junior High and High School Ministry also offer meetings for youth.

Our desire is that everyone who attends Crossroads will discover what it means to live in a right relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe the Biblical way to achieve this objective is through evangelizing, encouraging, equipping, and engaging people in our fellowship and the surrounding community.
Evangelism is extending the message of Jesus Christ to the surrounding community. We challenge those attending Crossroads to be ready to share the gospel with others as opportunity arises. Almost as important as the message of the gospel is the attitude of the believer who shares it! We believe effective evangelism begins with a believer who fully recognizes the extent of the gospel’s impact on their own life. Compassion for others is born when we comprehend (and continually remind ourselves of) the unconditional compassion that God extended toward us!
Encouraging the development of godly friendships is an important part of the being a healthy Christian. God designed us with a need for others! Therefore, we strive to provide a variety of ministry environments that are conducive to building Christ-centered, meaningful relationships. Oftentimes it is through our relationships with others that we tangibly experience the love of Christ. Click here for a list of opportunities.
Equipping people with the resources and tools to mature in their relationship with Jesus Christ is an essential part of our ministry. As people grow in their relationship with Christ, the Holy Spirit equips them to better reflect and represent the Lord in their daily lives.
Engaging in the life of the church is important in developing and maintaining spiritual maturity and vitality. Therefore, we provide a variety of opportunities for people in the church to be actively involved in ministering to one another. Click here for a list of opportunities.
