Details: A small team of families and people of all ages from Crossroads will meet up with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) to serve the poor in communities in Tijuana. We hope to experience the grace of God in new ways as we step out to serve people who are desperate for Jesus.
We will help with Zone Kids, a ministry for children living in Tijuana’s red light district, by teaching Bible stories, crafts, and games. We will also give soup and scripture to the homeless in the red light district and help with Circulo, a ministry for kids that focuses on education and sharing Jesus. There are two local orphanages and a local school we may visit as well. We may even do some home building—we’re excited to see what doors God opens up for us while we’re there.
These are unique opportunities to serve the poorest of the poor, to get a glimpse of the great physical and spiritual needs of people living right in California’s backyard. Our hope and prayer is that as we minister to the needy through God’s grace, we will make a difference in their lives and also see Him working in our lives. Please pray for the families and individuals who step out on this mission to be ignited and encouraged as they act on their faith. Pray for them to gain a deeper sense of who God is and what He has called them to be. Pray for them to engage with the unique gifts He has given them and see how He wants them to be used for His kingdom—not only across the border, but also when they return home.
We are excited to see what God does and grateful for the opportunity to make missions accessible to families at Crossroads. Come alongside us in prayer as we hope for lives to be changed and the name of Jesus to be glorified in Mexico and in our own hearts.
