Brett grew up in a godly home and became a Christian at a young age. However, it was not until High School that he developed a serious desire to know the Lord. It was about that time in 1995 that he started attending Calvary Chapel Grass Valley (now Crossroads Church). It was here that he met his wife Annie and later got married. Shortly after, he began serving in various ministries at Crossroads and in 2004 he joined the pastoral staff. He currently lives in Auburn with his wife Annie and two kids.
