SUMMARY:Come to Dinner
DESCRIPTION:What does it look like to courageously step into community? \nOne of our core values is ‘We are family\,’ and we believe one of the best ways to get to know each other is over a shared meal. We understand that meeting new people can be a bit intimidating\, but we want to make it easier. Join us for dinner and great conversation as we connect and grow together. We’d love to get to know you! \nWhen you sign up\, you can choose whether to go to dinner on Friday\, October 18th\, or Saturday\, October 19th. Then\, you can choose what area of our community you’d like to go to dinner in. \nWhat to expect:\nArrive promptly at 6:30 for dinner. There will be around 8 people per household\, so it will be a small-medium group of you enjoying a meal together. \nSo\, will you come to dinner? \n***We ask that if you have a dietary restriction\, please bring a dish that you can eat and share with others at dinner! This way\, you are ensured a meal and you still get to enjoy this time with others.

SUMMARY:Women's Bible Study
DESCRIPTION:Women of Crossroads and surrounding communities are invited to a verse-by-verse Bible study through the book of Revelation\, beginning September 17. \n ***Please note you will need to purchase your own book after 9/18.*** \nWe will be taking a break in the study from November 12 – January 7. When we resume in January\, we will finish the study on March 25.  \nDetails: \nRevelation – Eternal King\, Everlasting Kingdom \nPerhaps no other book of the Bible feels as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that can confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable\, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible! \nIn this September through April verse-by-verse Bible study\, author Jen Wilkin will help us discover how the last book of the Bible – the culmination of God’s great story – speaks a steadying word of assurance and hope. We need this and we can do this together! \nThe cost to attend the study and for the study book\, including video access\, is $30. This book will last you all through the Bible study season. You will get your book on the first day of class. \nIf you need or can donate to a scholarship\, let us know! We don’t want anyone to miss out. You can call the church office at 530-268-2539.\n\nMeeting Options:\n\nOnsite –\nTuesday Morning: 9:30 – 11:30 am (Childcare & homeschool program available)\nTuesday Evening: 6:30 – 8:30 pm (Childcare available) \nOffsite –\nTuesday Evening: 6:30 – 8:30 pm in Lake of the Pines \nThursday Morning: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm in Grass Valley/Nevada City area \nOnline –\nThursday Morning: 10:00 – 11:30 am on Zoom. \nWhat to expect:\nWhen you meet: Fellowship\, worship\, video teaching\, and class discussion.\nDuring the week: Study guide & homework for next class discussion. \nFor more information\, contact JaNahn Foster in the church office at 530-268-2539 ext.121\,  womensministry@crossroadslive.com

SUMMARY:Armory Lake Days
DESCRIPTION:It’s back again! Armory Lake Days! We’re going to have fun\, soak up some sun\, and do discipleship by the lake!\nHeidi Mackie is one of the Armory Middle School ministry leaders\, and she lives on the lake in Lake of the Pines. She has graciously offered her house for us to use through the summer so we can have these little “mini-event” lake days once a month. We’ll be doing a teachings series that’s based around stories of scripture that happen near the lake (or lake-ish places). Dinner\, snacks\, and drinks are provided. There are some strict regulations for getting into the LOP community and some safety regulations we have in place for playing in the lake itself. Be sure you and your teen review these when you register to avoid trouble on the day of the event. \nDates:\nMay 14th\, June 11th\, July 9th\, August 20th\, September 10th \nLots to do:\nIn the Lake – boating\, tubing\, swimming\, playing\, fishing\, kayaking\, canoeing\, paddle boarding\, rafts\, etc. \nOn the Land – food & drink\, bocce ball\, croquet\, volleyball\, badminton\, spike ball\, ping-pong\, lounging\, etc. \nRides are available from North Campus at 4:30 PM and return to North Campus by 9:30 PM. You must confirm your need for a ride with Dane Foster by 4:00 each time you need a ride into the lake. Access to the Lake of the Pines community requires you to register and be called into the gate. More instructions about this will be provided when you register for the event.

SUMMARY:Vacation Bible School
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to embark on a Great Jungle Journey! \nEvery day\, our kids are bombarded with questions: Did God really create everything? Why do bad things happen? Was Noah’s ark real? Why do I need to be saved? Can I trust the Bible? \nAt this year’s VBS\, your kids will explore the biblical answers to these questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths\, butterflies\, and dart frogs\, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise\, stopping at seven ports of call. These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation\, Corruption\, Catastrophe\, Confusion\, Christ\, Cross\, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world\, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday lives. \nThis event is free and open to kids entering Kindergarten (must be age five by 9/1/24) through kids entering 5th grade in the fall. Space is limited\, so be sure to sign up early! \nFor more info\, call the church office: (530) 268-2539
