The daily habit of being in the Word is vital to our walk with Jesus. The goal, of course, is not to check a box; the goal is to allow Scripture to shape you, for the truth to transform you, and to spend time with God.

This reading plan is intended to give time and space to reflect on the passages we’re reading. It offers us the opportunity to connect with the Sunday morning teaching and expand on it during the week.

BREAD
When we read through Scripture, we want to go at a pace that allows it to read us. Below is a simple acronym that will help guide our time as we read Scripture and seek to live it out. Each day we will follow the pattern of BREAD.

B – Be Still
Find a space where you can be quiet before God. Before you even begin reading, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your time and be still before God.

R – Read
Read through the passage for the day. As you read, pay attention to what stands out and write out one verse that grabs your attention.

E – Encounter
Read through the verse that you have written out, and reflect on it, meditate on it, chew on it, and wrestle with it. What do you think God is trying to reveal to you? Allow Him to speak to your heart and mind. Write a short reflection of what God may be saying to you.

A – Apply
Ask yourself how you might apply what you have read to your day. Write down how you will try to live this out.

D – Devote
Close by writing a simple prayer of devotion to God. Ask Him to guide you and fill you as you live for Him.

The Plan

This year we have set it up for you to read through the entire Bible in a year. Each week will start with a reading from our Sunday sermon, then there are passages from the Old Testament and New Testament to read through.

[Note: The plan will be updated as the year progresses. Currently, the plan covers January through June, 2024)
