Connecting to Christ and one another

Here at Crossroads, we desire to be an authentic community that loves Jesus and one another. The life that Jesus invites us into is one of freedom, peace, and purpose. By the grace of God and the power of His Holy Spirit, we desire to see all people come to know the life changing power of Jesus . Crossroads Church is a Calvary Chapel Christian fellowship.

We Will Love
Christ’s greatest commands must be our greatest priority. We want to be committed to loving God and loving others not merely in words, but in action.
We Actively Participate in God's Plan
There’s no room here for consumer Christianity or sitting on the sidelines. We must all be giving ourselves to the call and purposes of Jesus Christ.
We Have a Vision for the World
The work of Jesus extends far beyond our borders. We want to see the bigger picture of how God can use us both near and far.
We Surrender to the Holy Spirit
We want to know that every mission we embark on begins first in the heart of God. We must bow before we move, always seeking to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We Move Forward by Faith
We want to be people who say yes to God. Faith enables us to continue to take risks for God, always trusting in His power and provision.
We Will Reach and Serve our Community
We will use whatever methods God makes available to us to reach our culture and serve our community with the love of Jesus.
We Trust in the Gospel
There is only one message that has the power to save and redeem fallen mankind— the Gospel of Jesus.
We Hold Fast to God's Word
Regardless of the shifting tides of our culture, the Bible will always be our final authority.
We Will Invest in the Next Generation
We are committed to investing time and resources into building families, raising our children and developing future leaders who are devoted to Jesus Christ.
We Are in Awe of His Presence
As individuals and as a body we desire to passionately worship and experience the living God.
We Fight the Battle Together
We shouldn’t be living life alone and on the fringes. Christ calls us into genuine, loving community with one another. Discipleship and relationships are vital.
We Embrace Unity in Diversity
The gospel is for all, regardless of race, age, economic status, or traditions. Because our identity is in Christ, we are called to work together as the redeemed family of God.

We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each distinct from the Other, and Each are fully God, yet They are perfectly harmonized in Their Triune Being.

We believe in the deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His future return to this earth in power and glory, and His present life for us as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe in the threefold work of the Holy Spirit: that He seeks out and brings the lost to salvation; that He sanctifies the believer; and that He baptizes the believer into the body of Christ, giving spiritual gifts to the Christian for service. We believe the continuance of gifts as found in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. We believe that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Teacher and guarantee of our inheritance.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as being verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. We believe that God has not added to, deleted from, or altered the canon of the Bible with subsequent writings and revelations.

We believe that lost and sinful man must be saved, and that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who have faith in Him are redeemed and justified on the grounds of His shed blood. We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith, and is a free gift from God. It is not attained by our own works. Therefore it cannot be earned by good works apart from faith. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

Spiritual Gifts

We believe that God utilizes ALL the spiritual gifts as given in Scripture, in accordance with His perfect will. We believe each Christian is endowed with both general gifts and specific gifts. Each believer is unique unto the Lord, and each is uniquely gifted. It is our job as believers to discover our gifts and use them in our service both to God and to each other. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. We believe that the filling of the Holy Spirit is a baptism of power and is given to all believers who ask for it. The primary, initial characteristic of the filling of the Holy Spirit is a release of LOVE in and through the life of the believer. Other signs may accompany this, but Love is the essential one.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost along with Satan and his fallen angels.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming in the air. We believe that Christ will return to the earth physically to setup His kingdom before the millennium begins.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death (separation from God) and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer, yet only in accordance with God’s perfect will.

Satan & Demons

We believe in a literal devil and his host of fallen angels, and that he is at work in the world today. We believe that Satan is a created being, and as such he is limited in presence and power. We believe that Satan has no power over true believers. He can affect his confusion on Christians only as permitted by God, through which we are to be tested and found true, and by which we are to grow in faith and wisdom, to the praise and glory of our LORD.

Concerning evangelism, we participate and support evangelistic outreach ministries in communities all over the world. We have established and support missionary works in Africa, India and other parts of the world. We believe in the importance of both local and foreign mission efforts in order to make disciples of all nations.

Marriage has been ordained by God. This church defines “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of one naturally born man and one naturally born woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by the church only to the extent that it is consistent with the definition of “marriage” found in this statement.

Human Sexuality

Legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, sexual activities outside of marriage (referred to in the New Testament as “porneia”) including but not limited to, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, and pedophilia are inconsistent with the teaching of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious conduct, transgender behavior, and the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography, are incompatible with the biblical witness.

What Makes You Tick?

I’m passionate about seeing people mature in Christ, the local church, watching people thrive in their God given life mission. The opportunities to lead worship or write music always excite me, and on a day off you might find me at some deserted lake with a fishing pole. I enjoy spending time with my family. Learning how to follow Jesus with them is a great joy.

Day You Met Jesus

I was 13 years old and was at a night of worship. Was with family and friends and realized that night my need for Christ’s righteousness and forgiveness.

What Makes You Tick?

I love missions, travel and exploring new cultures, places and peoples. I love my grandchildren. They are each so unique and interesting. Watching them grow and develop brings great joy to my heart.

Day You Met Jesus

Back in 1975, alone, putting a new floor in my mom’s apartment I listened to a cassette tape (old school) of a Christmas message over and over again. Finally, on the last listen the Holy Spirit opened my heart to the truth of the message, I knelt down and prayed the sinners prayer. In an instant, the the Lord downloaded His Spirit into my heart.

What Makes You Tick?

I love a good adventure, questioning the norm, and powdered donettes. I care about thoughtful faith coupled with real intimacy with God. I’m bothered by snap judgements and water bottles that are open but abandoned. I go all in on my marriage, my kids, and every Apple product there is or will be.

Day You Met Jesus

16 years old, YWAM Chico, with a bunch of strangers at an Easter camp session. Preacher from Oakland I never met told me things no man could ever know. God was not only real, but he knew me. #mindblown

What Makes You Tick?

I’m passionate about helping people get to a place in their life where they decide to love Jesus and live for Jesus. I love my God, my wife, my family, my friends, and my ministry. It bothers me that people won’t believe in Jesus. I just dislike sin and the enslavement it has on people. I go all in on God, marriage, family, friends, ministry. Currently also going all in on college, exercise, and fish tanks.

Day You Met Jesus

I was very young when I first met Jesus, but it wasn’t until the summer between my junior high and high school career that I decided to follow Jesus and call Him Lord. It was at a Calvary Chapel youth summer camp in the San Bernardino Mountains on July 3 2000 that I dedicated my life to God.

What Makes You Tick?

I love to see people growing in a relationship with God. From salvation to lifelong maturity, I love seeing a walk with God that has substance, that makes an impact on actual day to day living. I love spending time with my wife and going through life’s adventures with her.

Day You Met Jesus

I grew up in a Christian home and remember responding to an invitation for salvation as a kid. This was an amazing foundation for my life but it wasn’t until after high school that I realized Jesus needed to be more than just my Savior— He also needed to be my Lord. After that night my whole life changed!

What Makes You Tick?

I love: kids, the outdoors, artsy stuff, watching football, dinner with friends, moments of quiet, time away with my amazing wife. Grieved by Christian families that do not grasp the hope of Christ to heal them of the patterns of their hurtful pasts … thus the continued hurt is passed down through their families.

Day You Met Jesus

Became a Christian as a 17 year old junior in high school at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Went to church to concerts and Bible studies with peers for several months and then realized, although raised in church, I really had not surrendered my life to Christ.

What Makes You Tick?

I’m madly in love with my wife of 39 years. I’m so thankful and proud of our 3 kids and their kids. I care about knowing and enjoying God’s love, forgiveness and what He has in store for us. I care about people of all ages knowing His love and forgiveness too.

Day You Met Jesus

I was almost 20 years old, alone in my bedroom watching TV late at night. Thinking about how empty and frustrating my life was. Then I remembered I had a Bible track in my junk drawer somebody had given me the year before. I read it, and God opened my eyes to it’s truth. I got on my knees and asked God to forgive me, and asked Jesus to come into my life as my Savior and Lord.

Day You Met Jesus

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family that was centered around Jesus. There’s not a day I can remember not wanting to know and follow Him. But it was in High School that God really began to grow my faith and I began to experience Jesus more and more as my personal Savior.
